Nightmare at the BLOX featuring local artists Rome IX and Sargeant X Comrade – a Halloween Fundraiser in support of Calgary Alpha House Society on Friday, October 27th from 7PM to 12AM. Join us for good food (featuring Regrub), fun drinks (featuring Last Best Brewery), costume contests, raffles, and great music! This event is for individuals 18+; we encourage costumes, dancing, and raising money for charity!
Sargeant X Comrade Bio
Yolanda Sargeant is the Queen of Lo-Fi Soul. A genre that she and her producer Comrade (Evgeniy) pioneered after not being able to find an appropriate label that fits their eclectic style. The duo infuses jazz, soul, funk, dancehall, hip-hop, as well as other genres into a unique sound that combines the old with the new. Sargeant’s rich vocals take center stage while Comrade’s production takes you on a multi-layered, genre-bending journey from beginning to end.
Rome IX Bio
Rome IX is a Canadian Indie-Soul artist, musician, actor, and aspiring filmmaker hailing from Calgary. With a diverse range of talents, this multidisciplinary artist finds inspiration in personal and observed experiences, always striving to understand the complexities of the human condition. Rome’s artistic journey has been shaped by his love for deep lyrics, storytelling, and soulful arrangements, influenced by renowned artists like Jason Mraz, Miguel, and Stevie Wonder.
