Engaging Vulnerable Persons Workshop
The Engaging Vulnerable Persons Training/Workshop breaks down common myths and misconceptions by providing an understanding of homelessness and its root causes. It offers skills and knowledge that empowers Calgarians to not only co-exist with men and women in their community experiencing homelessness, but also interact with them meaningfully, using compassion, empathy, and crisis intervention techniques when necessary.
Every day, men and women experiencing homelessness feel the dehumanizing impact of existing in a society in which individuals will cross the street to avoid passing them, change seats on transit, or avoid making eye contact. The EVP Training works to change this cycle of unspoken fear and stereotypes.
