Get into the Holiday spirit with Tom Jackson’s “The Huron Carole” virtual concert in support of Alpha House

Alpha House is honoured to once again be a recipient charity of Tom Jackson’s The Huron Carole. This year’s concert will be held online on December 1, 2021. Alpha House supporters and alumni from across Alberta, Canada and the world are invited to attend this special concert event and celebrate the holiday season.

Sparking the true spirit of the season in Canadians coast to coast, Tom Jackson’s annual variety show and fundraiser The Huron Carole comes full circle for the country’s most beloved, celebrated, and active philanthropist, actor, recording artist, and author.

‘Angels Without Wings,’

This year’s title harks to the Companion of the Order of Canada’s storied steps into humanitarian efforts that have resulted in coordinating more than $230 million in funds and in-kind services to an abundance of charities and relief organizations.

Peppered with performances from Jackson and a bevy of his musical friends, the legendary variety show features Christmas classics, stories from the road, timeless fables, original music, Jackson’s signature Dad jokes, and more — all for a good cause.

This is the fourth year Alpha House has been selected as one of the Huron Carole recipient charities in Calgary. Tom is a long-time volunteer with the Downtown Addiction Outreach Partnership (DOAP) program team and a dedicated supporter of the agency’s work. This year, funds will support Alpha House’s programs in Calgary and Lethbridge.

“We are thankful to be part of this year’s Huron Carole and look forward to a special online evening that will unite us across the miles. Tom’s commitment to helping the people we serve is evident in his engagement with our DOAP team and the caring way he assists our clients on the street and in the shelter. Now more than ever, funds are needed to help support our work. Donations ensure the sustainability of programs that can be life-saving for people made vulnerable by poverty and addiction.”

– Kathy Christiansen, Executive Director of Alpha House

The event pays tribute to all the angels around us, Jackson shares. “Sometimes they’re invisible — just like you and me when we need help. So if you’re down and out, and need help, find someone who needs it more than you. You’ll feel much better.”

The Huron Carole: Angels Without Wings will celebrate its 34th year this 2021 season.
