Open the Door to a Brighter Future.

Give Hope Through Housing.

What does home mean to you?

Home is a place of comfort, safety, and stability. It is much more than a shelter; it is a sanctuary. For our clients, home is a place where they can work on other aspects of their lives to create a healthier future. It changes lives.

Housing helps people live healthier lives. Their home is a safe place to be and they no longer face the challenges of living on the streets.”

– Michelle, Alpha House employee

We believe everyone deserves a place to call home. But it isn’t that easy – especially for those individuals who are homeless or who are affected by alcohol and other substance dependencies.

The affordable housing crisis in Calgary impacts everyone, including those we serve at Alpha House. Average rental rates soaring and vacancies at 2.7%, the lowest since 2014.

The need for housing is urgent, and we need your help to find stable housing solutions for our clients. Clients in our Community Housing program live in their own homes in various communities in Calgary and sign their own leases. They work with caseworkers to set goals and work towards them and to learn the life skills they need to stay in housing.

Today the need for housing is greater than ever. We need your help to open the door to a brighter future. Here are some of the ways you can help:

  1. Donate to our housing program and your money goes to deposits, subsidizing rents, groceries and essentials

  2. Create a “housewarming kit” with essentials like linens, pantry staples, cleaning supplies and toiletries to help us set up clients’ new homes (email [email protected] for drop-off options)

  3. Contact us to learn more about the resources and support available to landlords

Give hope through housing and help us build a more inclusive, supportive community with a home for everyone.
